About the Artist. One of the best known artists in the Jersey Shore community is Roberta Giannone. Roberta lives in Harvey Cedars, a small town located on the North end of Long Beach Island, which is where she also has her main studio, known better as Roberta's Studio. Roberta's artwork features some of the
most popular and favorite sites and themes that can be found all along
the northern seaboard. Her subjects have become somewhat historical. Pound
boats that once lined the beaches exist no longer except in some of the
finest paintings created by Roberta. There were once dozens of small shacks
in the marsh areas of the Barnegat Bay. One that has outlasted time and
weather is "Happy Days", a small, red deteriorating cottage that stands
alone next to the Causeway leading onto Long Beach Island. Since there
is only one road onto the Island, "Happy Days" is somewhat of an historical
landmark, and a commonly requested subject of work for Roberta's customers,
mostly because of it's familiarity with the local and seasonal residents.
The Barnegat Lighthouse, the beach walkways and other various lesser- known
structures have been Roberta's main themes her entire career as an artist.
Paintings are still the most popular of her creations, and few own just
one.
